The Programme Comprises Of 2 Modules
The programme comes in 2 modules. The 2 modules cover all the features from end to end with hands-on practice. It is recommended for most people to attend both modules though each module can be taken as a standalone.
Module 1: Foundations of Power BI – Data to Dashboard (6.5 CPD hours).
Module 2: Extracting Data Insights with Power BI and DAX (6.5 CPD hours).
Total CPD hours = 13 hours.
All participants will receive the certificate of completion and 12 months video access to the content at the end of the course.
Participants attending module 2 receive a copy of Matt Allington’s book Supercharge Power BI.

Module 1
Foundations of Power BI – Data to Dashboard
This first module covers all you need to know to start using the Power BI suite of tools without expecting you to be a programmer.
The topics include
- How to use Power BI Desktop to build reports using data prepared by others.
- Various features of Power BI Desktop.
- Creating different types of reporting.
- Publishing Reports to the website (Powerbi.com)
- Creating dashboards on the website.
- Various features of the website.
- Creating Group Workspaces for collaboration.
- Creating and sharing apps with end users.
- Â Introduction to Power Query, and hands-on education of several reusable patterns that cover common use cases for cleaning, shaping and loading data.
Module 2
Extracting Data Insights with Power BI & DAX
This second module focuses on teaching you how to model and prepare data for analysis using our course in Power BI. You will develop skills in data modelling with DAX (Data Analysis eXpressions), the data modelling language of the program.
 The topics include
- Introduction to data modelling.
- Overview of the DAX language (Data Analysis Expressions).
- Common functions in the DAX language.
- Â How to write formulas that leverage multiple tables.
- CALCULATE – the most important function in DAX.
- Advanced concepts including table functions such as ALL, FILTER.
- What-if Analysis.
- Time Intelligence.
